LITTLE MOJAVE
"Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom." - Rudolf Steiner
Within the Waldorf philosophy, the child is not considered a cup to be filled but rather an ember to be kindled. The kindling of the child's spirit is held in rhythm, by way of in-breaths and out-breaths, to emulate the heart. The teacher embodies kindness and warmth - a figure worth imitating in all of her actions. The environment she creates invites play, exploration, goodness, beauty and imagination.
